Hi, Mom Panel! We're visiting WDW January 2-5, 2013. (So excited!!) Will the parks still be decorated for Christmas?

    Hi Kelley!

January is a great time to visit the Walt Disney World theme parks.  There are less crowds to contend with, and the weather is generally cool, with highs in the mid 60's.  Definitely not summer weather, but it beats the sweltering summer.

Traditionally, Disney begins removing the Christmas decorations during the first week of January, traditionally right after the 2nd of January, and the process is accomplished quite quickly and stealthily, I might add. By the end of that week, the decor at the parks and the resorts will be more subdued.

Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation! -Malanie

Meet the Panelist: Malanie, New York

Hi there! The Disney Parks have been a part of my life since I was a little girl. Introducing my children, husband, and family to all the magic that Walt Disney World can offer has led to countless moments with Mickey and Friends, Disney Vacation Club membership and fun on the high seas with Disney Cruise Lines! Our vacations are usually centered around a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth, and I am super excited to help you plan and create magical moments for you and your families!
