My mom, mother- in -law and I are going to Disney Girl Perfectly Princess Tea with 8 year old daughter dressed as Aurora. She wants us to dress as the 3 good fairies. Would that be weird? Are adults expected to dress nice or are shorts and or costumes OK?

Hi, Rhonda!  There is a bit of a discrepancy in the answers I received from the cast members I spoke with, but I do know this much:  adults are not permitted into the theme parks in costume except during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.  I would therefore make the leap to conclude that the same reasons costumes are not permitted in the parks applies as well to character dining experiences such as this one.

You'll probably realize that in addition to your own daughter, other children (including younger ones) will be in attendance at the tea party.  I'm sure there would be great confusion for some of them to see that the "characters" (you guys) are only there for your daughter.  There may also be some disruption to your daughter's experience as well, particularly if other children feel they can come and interrupt your enjoyment to get photos or autographs from the ladies they believe are the real fairies.

So, while the information I received in researching this answer is a bit muddled, I would say that it's probably not appropriate to do the costumes.

As for what to wear, I've seen adults in shorts and tees, sun dresses, summery skirts and tops - pretty much everything.  I'd probably opt for nicer shorts and a top if you are hitting a park right before or after, but if I was not doing a park, I'd probably wear a skirt or sun dress.

    Have a GREAT time!
