Hi Nicole! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so happy to see you here, and I'm thrilled to be able to help you with your first question! I know November might feel far off, but before you know it, you'll be at
The Most Magical Place on Earth with your family, making beautiful memories. I can't wait to see you there!
Let's talk about the
Disability Access Service (DAS). This program underwent some changes earlier this year and now provides support for Guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or a similar disorder, are unable to wait in a regular queue for a long time. Disney is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all Guests, but it sounds like DAS might not be what you're looking for.
For
Guests with mobility needs, each attraction provides options for Guests like your Mom to load into ride vehicles comfortably. You can rest assured that the fabulous Cast Members will go above and beyond to ensure she has an incredible experience. This includes disability parking lots, wheelchair & ECV rental, transportation accessibility, dedicated areas for loading and unloading, and much more.
You don't need to sign up in advance for any of these services, but I recommend
looking at what's available and getting familiar with your options. When you arrive at the theme parks, it's a good idea to visit the
Guest Relations building and talk to a Cast Member about your mom's specific needs. They'll also be able to answer any questions you might have.
I hope this information is helpful, Nicole. Please feel free
to come back and ask more questions anytime. It's always a joy to assist amazing friends like you!
Cheers
Nilson
