My mom, Husband, Son (Age 7) and I are going to Disney in Sept. So far we have reservations for Tony's, Hoop Dee Doo, Spirit of Aloha, Coral Reef, Tusker House and SCi Fi. Any comments (good/bad) and any recommendatiions? Our first trip ! Thank You!

    Leslie,

It sounds like you are off to a great start! You have selected some fun dining options, and I think your son will particularly enjoy the Sci-Fi Dine In. It's so unique! And I highly recommend their milkshakes.

Likewise, the Hoop Dee Doo is an excellent choice! Their food is delicious, and the entertainment great fun. This is a must-do for my family.

If I were to alter any of your plans, it might be to forgo the Spirit of Aloha luau. We had high expectation for this show, and unfortunately it fell short. The food was just ok, and the show seemed quite long. My young daughters were very restless. I personally would rather spend that money (or if you're on the dining plan, use my 2 table service credits) in another way.

If you like Polynesian food, I highly recommend 'Ohana in the Polynesian resort. Dinner there is always a good time!

Another suggestion for good food with a fun twist would be the Whispering Canyon Cafe in the Wilderness Lodge. If your son can take a joke, you might suggest that he ask the waiter for some ketchup!

I hope your first trip is a wonderful one, and the beginning of many more Disney vacations to come!
