Welcome to planDisney, Jen!
I am so sorry to hear your mom hurt her foot! I hope she will soon be on the mend. I am happy to let you know that
wheelchairs and
Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) are available to rent at all Walt Disney World theme parks, water parks, and
Disney Springs. Rentals are on a first-come, first-served basis. If you will be visiting more than one location on the same day, simply present your rental receipt upon arriving at your next destination.
Wheelchairs and ECVs may not be removed from the rental location. However, there are complimentary courtesy wheelchairs available in the parking lots to assist with getting Guests to and from their vehicles.
If you think your mom might also require an ECV or wheelchair outside the theme parks, you might consider renting through ScooterBug, the Disney Featured Provider. ScooterBug can provide a length-of-stay rental, and deliver your equipment to your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel.
I recommend packing a small microfiber towel in your day bag so you can wipe down the seat in the event of a Florida rain shower. You might also consider tossing a poncho or plastic sheet over the wheelchair or ECV when parked to keep both it and any belongings dry. If your mom needs to ice her foot during the day, stop in at
First Aid.
I hope you have a wonderful time making magical memories during your visit! Please stop by and see us again if you have any additional questions. We are always happy to help.
Anne Marie
