Welcome to planDisney, Alison! Thanks for coming back with another great question. It sounds like you’re planning the ultimate summer getaway to Walt Disney World Resort… Hot Dog!
Using
Lightning Lane Multi Pass is a fantastic way to maximize your park time and minimize time spent in line, especially during those warmer summer months when a break from the heat can feel magical on its own! While it can seem a little overwhelming at first, I promise it gets easier once you’ve had a chance to use it in the
My Disney Experience app.
When you first purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you’ll be able to select up to three attractions and return times in advance for the people in your group. Everyone in your party will be included in that initial booking. If you’re staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can start making your selections at 7:00 a.m. Eastern time, seven days before your check-in date. If you’re not staying on property but have date-based theme park tickets, you’ll be able to start three days before the first day of your ticket.
If plans change (and they often do at Disney), you can modify your selections in the app. And yes, you can absolutely choose to update the plans for everyone or just a few members of your group. So if some of your crew wants to try a different attraction, you can adjust their reservations without affecting the rest of the party. You can change the ride, the return time, or even remove certain guests from a reservation. It’s all done in the My Disney Experience app under the Lightning Lane Passes section. Just tap on the attraction you want to modify, choose “Modify Selection,” and you’ll be able to make the changes you need.
Another helpful tip: keep refreshing the app throughout the day! Disney often releases additional Lightning Lane availability at random times, so checking back can help you snag a ride you might have missed earlier.
Oh! And if you’re planning to be in the parks for the Fourth of July, get ready for an unforgettable celebration. While Disney hasn’t released official details just yet, in past years, both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT have featured stunning patriotic
fireworks displays that are truly magical. I’d recommend keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest updates as we get closer to the holiday.
I hope this helps make your planning a little smoother, Alison. As always, feel free to reach out with more questions. We’re here and happy to help however we can.
Have the most magical trip,
Eean
