    Which moderate resort would you suggest for a family with 2 sons ages 4 and 2 1/2 for a summer 2011 stay in disneyworld?

    Hi Denise,

    The moderate resorts, which consist of Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside, Coronado Springs and Caribbean Beach, are all fantastic properties with a number of similar amenities like pools, table service restaurants and gift shops, however if it was me I would choose the Caribbean Beach Resort for your family.

    The Port Orleans properties are great but remind me more of romantic strolls through the New Orleans bayou. I like Coronado Springs a great deal, and your boys would most likely love the Dig site play area with pool and slide. This property offers a few additional amenities that other Disney moderates do not since it is a convention center and hosts large number of guests for on site meetings and events. While this is a huge advantage, when traveling with younger kids you may not want to have the larger crowds, congestion and noise level that can come if a large group is there during your stay.

    As for the Caribbean Beach resort, my boys love playing on the white sand beach while I relax in a nearby hammock. The resort has a fantastic laid back island feel to it. The rooms were all recently remodeled with either a Finding Nemo or Pirates of the Caribbean theme. I'm betting your little pirates would love to drop anchor in one of those rooms for a few nights. The pool was also remodeled with a fun slide and the nearby kiddie pool has a great splash filled pirate ship to play on.
