We are on a moderate budget, however we may save enough before our stay in May 2018 to go for deluxe. Can we book PO Riverside now and then change to a deluxe resort booking in 2018? If so, should we book tickets and dining reservations this year or wait?

    Dear Lucy,

Thank you so much for reaching out from down under to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I completely understand your strategy here, and I have actually done the same type of thing as I plan my Walt Disney World Resort vacations.

I highly recommend making your reservation for your desired moderate resort hotel now, to avoid the situation of having that resort hotel sell out for your desired dates. If you have the situation where you are able to save the amount that you wish to save in order to upgrade to a deluxe resort hotel, then you can absolutely upgrade and any amount that you have already paid towards your trip will be applied to the new reservation. Of course, this is pending availability in the deluxe resort that you have chosen.

Your Advanced Dining Reservations will not be affected by a change in hotel.

Hope that helps with your magical planning!
