My mobility scooter needs charging midway through my day. Is a very small Jackery battery permitted in the park? A new battery for my scooter is expensive.

Hi there, Frances, and welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad that you've popped in to ask this question about your upcoming vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth! My fellow Panelist friends and I are here to help make sure you feel confident and prepared as you go into your vacation. We just love the planning process, and hope to be a resource you can use anytime!

It sounds like you're considering your options for getting around the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks. Many guests choose to use a scooter, and you'll be happy to find that Walt Disney World Resort is increasingly accessible for Guests with Mobility Disabilities. From the moment you exit your Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, you'll see that the complimentary transportation throughout the resort, like the buses, Disney Skyliner, Monorail, and even the boats, can accommodate scooters to help you get to the parks safely.

Whether you choose to rent an ECV from Walt Disney World or bring your own, you might notice that your battery doesn't deplete as quickly as it does elsewhere because you'll be operating at a low speed. While the Property Rules for Walt Disney World Resort Prohibited Items list doesn't explicitly mention generators in the theme parks, it does say that they aren't allowed inside ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Happily, you can find outlets for charging throughout the parks, especially at restaurants and restrooms. If you need specific directions to a nearby charging location, ask a friendly Cast Member at Guest Relations. You can also refer to the map portion of the My Disney Experience Mobile App for locations of nearby essentials.

While we're on the subject of the My Disney Experience App, be sure to familiarize yourself with all of its amazing features before your vacation. It'll be your go-to resource for everything from Mobile Food & Beverage Orders to checking wait times at nearby attractions.

Frances, I hope you have a wonderful time on your upcoming vacation. Please stop back by planDisney with any other vacation planning questions you may have!

    See you real soon!
