Happy unbirthday, Maria, although the real deal is coming up soon! My family often plans our visits to
Walt Disney World Resort around birthdays because it is truly the most magical way to celebrate.
The Kiss Goodnight is a real treat, Maria, with Cinderella Castle gleaming in the quiet night with her lights twinkling. It's an enchanting way to end a day at
Magic Kingdom Park, and it's the perfect time to snap some photos on a nearly-empty Main Street, USA.
I have an early birthday surprise for you, Maria! I spoke to a helpful Cast Member, and he told me that the show is currently running on nights when there are no after-hours events scheduled. I checked
the calendar, and March 14 is listed as a regular park day at this time, so you should be able to see the day-ending show of your dreams.
The Kiss Goodnight usually happens about 30 minutes after the listed time for park closing. Keep an eye on the park schedule because hours are always subject to change, but if you're lucky, the show will begin around 9:30 PM. It only lasts a few minutes, and if you're planning to use any complimentary transportation back to a Disney Resort Hotel, don't forget they'll typically stop running an hour or so after the park closes.
Maria, I have another fun tip you might want to check out for your birthday celebration.
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square will personalize celebration buttons for a small charge. Stop by anytime to place your order, and you'll get a text when your button is ready. I think these make a fabulous keepsake. There's nothing like having Cast Members and other guests wish you a happy birthday throughout the parks. It makes me feel like a princess!
I know you're going to have a spectacular birthday, Maria! Stop by planDisney if you have any other questions.
Magic awaits,
Elaine
