We will be at MK Apr 16/19 and would like to book a fireworks dessert party. I only see 50th fireworks parties but that ends Mar 31. Will this be available after Apr 1? We have 2 small kids so having a place to sit/not fight crowds would be ideal. Options?

    Hi Christopher,

So nice to see you here again at planDisney! I know you must be eagerly awaiting your visit to Walt Disney World Resort in just a few short months. My family also has a spring visit planned and we've been excitedly counting down the days since we booked!

I'm not sure if you've heard but Happily Ever After, my all-time favorite nighttime spectacular is scheduled to return to Magic Kingdom Park on April 3. I just can't wait to hear the beautiful soundtrack again and watch the incredible projections on Cinderella Castle. It's truly a not-to-be-missed experience so you're smart to be planning ahead, especially if you'll be visiting with young children.

Disney Enchantment dessert parties are the only options available to book at this time, but as these Magic Kingdom 50th Anniversary Fireworks are scheduled to end on April 2, I would expect new dessert parties to become available when Happily Ever After returns. These have not yet been announced, but I recommend checking back over the next days and weeks for updated information. I'm hoping to book one for my family during our April visit as well!

I enjoyed my first-ever fireworks dessert party last year, and it was a big help to have a reserved viewing area for the show. This allowed me to enjoy attractions and experiences in other areas of the park without worrying about securing a viewing location hours before. If you have a choice on timing, I'd recommend the after-party option. This way you'll be among the first to enter the reserved viewing area while the pre-party guests are still enjoying their desserts and drinks. Then after the fireworks end, you can enjoy a more leisurely dining experience without worrying about rushing to the viewing area.

If you aren't able to reserve a dessert party there are still plenty of places to enjoy the fireworks during your visit. If crowds are a concern you can head further down Main Street, U.S.A., and try to view the show from the Walt Disney World Railroad train station. If you're looking for a closer view of of the projections I usually try to sit along the railings near the hub fountains. This way you won't have anyone immediately pressed up behind you. Just be sure to listen to Cast Member instructions to keep the walkways clear while you wait.

I hope this helps you plan a vacation that's practically perfect in every way!

    Wishing you magic and memories,
    Amy
