Hi Missy! We plan to go to Orlando (by RV) Jan 2, spent the night, go to Disney the 3rd, leave the 4th. Ft Wilderness has no sites. I need a campsite nearby to accommodate trailer, shuttle to the park. Also my husband is a vet, does Disney offer discount?

    Hi Lisa,

Greetings from a fellow Hoosier, and thanks so much for bringing me your great question! With your Walt Disney World Resort visit less than a month away, I bet you’re practically BURSTING with excitement and anticipation! When you arrive, all of the Christmas decorations will still be up, and “The Most Magical Place on Earth” will feel like a winter wonderland. You’re going to have a BLAST!

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble finding availability at The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. While I’m sure there are other campgrounds nearby, I’d encourage you to keep checking for availability. Guests’ plans do change and cancellations happen. I’d LOVE for you guys to be able to stay right in the middle of the magic for your trip, and I'm sending some pixie dust that something will open up for you!

I’m also very grateful for your husband’s service to our country, and I’m pleased to let you know that yes, Disney does offer some fantastic discounts to active and retired U.S. Military members! You’ll find great deals on multi-day theme park tickets, Disney Resort hotel stays, and even on Memory Maker, which is the perfect way to turn your days at the Walt Disney World Resort into a lifetime of magical moments. You may also want to look into Shades of Green, which offers discounted tickets and great hotel deals to Military families.

Thanks again for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Lisa, and please let me know if I can help with anything else as you’re planning your trip. I hope that you and your family have a truly magical vacation!
