Welcome to planDisney, Jennifer, and I'd like to offer your family a heartfelt thank you for your service. I'm so glad you're planning to visit
Walt Disney World Resort because military families have several magical options and discounts. Since your visit is in October, you'll get to enjoy the spooky Halloween decorations at the
Theme Parks and
Disney Springs. My family loves to do after-hours events like
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park. These special-ticketed parties offer terrifying treats, prankish parades, and howling holiday overlays on some attractions. Check it out....if you dare!
Jennifer, the military offerings vary, but military families can currently get
Disney Military Salute Tickets at a discounted price. In addition, you can add Park Hopper Options and a Memory Maker photo package at special rates. You would contact your local participating military base to take advantage of this ticket offer.
Retired and active members of the US Military can also get discounts on
Disney Resort Hotels. The current promotion runs through December 15, so your trip falls within those dates. Upon check-in, a valid military ID is required, and the military guest or their spouse must stay in the room. You can look at the
offer details to see if this offer would work for your family.
One final option is to book a room at
Shades of Green. This resort is located on Walt Disney World property and is available to members of the military. If you meet the
eligibility requirements for this resort, you can book online. Although I've never stayed at Shades of Green, many of my panelist friends have, and they absolutely love it!
I know you'll have a ghoulishly grand time during your fall visit, Jennifer! Please
stop by planDisney anytime. We're just DYING to help!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
