We (2 mid 50s guys)will be at WDW 9-27\10-2 staying in park, we like to hit the bars at night and it looks like not many bars in WDW. Should we rent a car and where is the best places to go outside the parks for some nite life?

    Hi Walter,

Not to much longer now until your Disney World getaway. I bet you are getting excited!

Personally, we prefer to not rent a car for our Disney vacations and we use the Disney transportation system and cabs for any late night trips where the buses are not available. The two best options for your evening adventures would be to head to the Boardwalk Resort. The boardwalk area is home to three bars that are open late and are a lot of fun. Here you will find the ESPN restaurant and bar which is perfect for a beer, some wings and to catch a game or twenty. At the other end of the boardwalk is the Atlantic Dance Hall and Jellyrolls. Both locations are over 21 year old bars with plenty of fun, beverages and music to end your evening. Jellyrolls features a great dueling piano atmosphere and does charge a cover fee.

You can also head over to Downtown Disney in the Westside area. Here you will find a number of locations where you can enjoy a late night snack and a drink or two. One of our favorite locations is Raglan Road, which is an Irish pub. The great thing about this area is the DIsney buses rub from the Downtown Disney area to all of the Disney resorts until quite late. Don't forget most Disney resorts also have great lounges that are open to all guests. Some of our favorites are The Rix at Coronado Springs and The Wave at the Contemporary. If you decide to enjoy the lounges at any of the resorts, a cab is the easiest form of transportation.

Hope you find a perfect spot for some evening fun!
