Welcome aboard, Angela!
I always like to hear from another Ohio family that is getting ready to set sail with Disney Cruise Line. My family and I love to sail in the winter with Disney because it means escaping the chilly temperatures back home and heading south for the warm waters of the Bahamas and Caribbean with Captain Mickey and his crew. The Very Merrytime sailings are even more fun than the amazing cruises that Disney does everyday because so much more is included! The festive atmosphere, life-sized Gingerbread house in the atrium that smells simply heavenly, and the huge Christmas tree in the atrium make your first glimpse of the ship as you walk on amazing. Plus, the activities add even more Christmas fun, and of course, Santa stops by to greet guests too!
I'm sorry that you won't be able to bring along your cute strand of Christmas lights, as seasonal/celebratory light bulb strings are on the
prohibited items list. However, you're welcome to decorate your cabin with vinyl clings or magnets. I've seen lots of cute Disney-themed vinyl clings which would be super fun for your verandah door and mirrors. Many guests also decorate with magnets on their stateroom door, which not only looks really fun and colorful, but also helps as you walk down the long hall of identicle looking stateroom doors. Yours will stick out!
Other ideas to look into, Angela, are the stateroom decorations that are offered in the
Gifts and Amenities. There are some great Christmas-themed decor packages that would make for a wonderful surprise for your family as they open the stateroom door for the first time and are greeted by floor to ceiling holiday decor!
Have fun planning, and please stop back with any other questions you might have as you continue to count down to the big cruise!
