Hi Ami, and welcome to planDisney! Staying at a
Disney Resort hotel is one of my favorite parts of a Disney World vacation. I just love discovering the unique details and theming at each one. So let’s make sure you’re all set to enjoy your stay in the magic!
It sounds like you have two separate Disney Resort hotel reservations and would like to combine them so you don’t need to change rooms during your vacation. I’d recommend calling the
Tickets and Hotel Reservations phone number, and a Cast Member would be happy to help figure out your options. If the two reservations are for the same room type and special offer (if you used one) at a single resort hotel, you may be able to merge them. If not, you can add notes to your reservations saying that you’d like to stay in the same room, if possible. While room requests aren’t guaranteed, Cast Members always try their best to grant your wish!
Even if you need to switch rooms, Disney makes it as seamless as possible. On your first checkout morning, give
Bell Services a call from the in-room phone. They’ll pick up your luggage and hold everything until your new room is ready (you can also bring your bags to Bell Services yourself if you’re in a rush to get to the parks). Once your new room is ready, give Bell Services a call, and they’ll bring your luggage by. I usually pick up my bags directly from Bell Services on my way back from the parks.
And if you’re planning to purchase
Lightning Lane Passes, in my experience, you can make selections for your entire vacation (up to 14 days) starting seven days in advance of your first check-in date, as long as your Disney Resort hotel reservations are back-to-back with no gaps in between. Note that this will work differently for booking dining reservations and
Enchanting Extras, which you'll need to do
up to 60 days before each check-in date.
One last tip before I go. When you get to your Disney Resort hotel, look for the recreation schedule, which is usually posted in the lobby or near the pool. I like to take a picture so I don’t miss anything during my stay. Each resort hotel has its own lineup of activities, like outdoor movies, pool games, family yoga, and tours. Most resort hotels have marshmallow roasting over a fire pit, which is one of my family’s must-dos. It’s a fun break from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks, and a complimentary sweet treat!
I hope you have a magical stay at Disney World! And if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.
