Hi, Andrew! This is such a great question, so I am glad you stopped by to chat with us! You definitely will want to purchase Memory Maker in advance of your trip to take advantage of the $30 discount currently being offered! This offer is subject to change at any time, but basically, it states that you can enjoy a
special $169 price for the Memory Maker product as long as you purchase it three days prior to taking any Disney PhotoPass pictures. So, I do want to encourage you to purchase it sooner rather than later.
You can begin taking
Disney PhotoPass pictures as soon as you spy the very first tan-vested photographer. They are stationed all over Walt Disney World Resort, within the theme parks, water parks, Disney Springs, and even many resorts and dining locations. They can link the photo to your My Disney Experience account by scanning either your MagicBand or Disney Theme Park ticket. A few minutes later, just open your
My Disney Experience mobile app and look for the My Pictures section. Your photo should automagically appear! Once a picture is loaded to your account, it will remain there for 45 days.
Now, to activate your Memory Maker, simply open any of your Disney PhotoPass photos and start the download process. Downloading a picture is actually what officially activates the product. You will then have 30 days from the time of that first download to keep adding photos before your Memory Maker will expire. I do want to recommend that you wait until you arrive back home to
download all of your pictures to your computer. The picture files are quite large, so you are sure to take up a lot of storage on your phone if you try to download them all to it!
Thanks again for stopping by and please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted adventures!
