What is a Memory maker and is it worth the additional cost ?

    Hi there Regina,

It is great to see you back at planDisney. I am so excited that you asked about the Memory Maker as it is one of my absolute favorite add-on options for our Walt Disney World Resort vacations! My kids can quickly tell you that I love to capture all of our memories with photographs. This is especially true when it comes to our amazing Disney World trips.

One of the many things I love about Disney World is their Disney PhotoPass Service. This service is available throughout all of Disney World and offers Guests access to amazing Disney Photographers, who are located at iconic park locations, as well as photo options on select attractions. The services are complimentary and within minutes you are able to see the photos either online or on your My Disney Experience app. Once the photos are available, you have the option to select and purchase photos. If you are like me however, you will not be able to select just a few and will want them all. This is where Memory Maker is the perfect vacation add-on. You will not need to pick and choose a few photos, as you will have access to unlimited downloads of your Disney PhotoPass photos and videos as well as some fun extras for one set price. You can also share the downloads with up to 25 members on your Friends & Family list. There are two options to select. The Memory Maker One Day, which is all your photos and videos from one day that you have selected or the Memory Maker, which includes all photos and videos from your entire length of stay.

You will have a short period of time in which you can purchase the Memory Maker after your trip, however Disney does apply an advanced purchase discount if the option is purchased prior to your arrival. A few helpful reminders when using the Memory Maker:

    • You will want to make sure you purchase more than three days before your arrival. This is because any photos taken within three days of the purchase are not included.
    • I often add this on when I begin making my advanced dining reservations. That is a perfect reminder and that way, it is added well before our arrival and I do not have any issues with photos not being included.
    • If you do miss that 3 day window look for the Memory Maker- Starts Immediately option so you do not miss out on any of your photos.
    • Your Memory Maker is good for 30 days once you "activate" it. This activation occurs once you download your first photo.
    • Once you download your first photo, you will have 30 days to complete any additional downloads before the photos expire.
    • Photos expire 45 days from the date the photo was taken.
    • You can download the photos as they become available on your account, or wait until the end of your trip and download them all at once. Additionally, you can download them as many times as you would like before they expire.
I hope this information helps you capture every single magical moment of your next trip. If we can assist with any additional planning questions, please stop back and see us

Hope to see ya real soon,
