Hi there, Amber! Welcome back to planDisney--it's great to see you again. Chatting about
Disney Vacation Club is one of my very favorite activities, and I'm happy to look into your question. Let's get right to it!
Without a doubt, one of the very best features of DVC Membership is the flexibility. We regularly bank and borrow
Vacation Points, depending on our Disney travel plans, and it has made our vacation dreams a reality on more than one occasion! With the new
Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows opening soon, I see more
banking and borrowing math in my future so we can experience some of the new accommodation options at our Home Resort.
I was very intrigued by the possibility of borrowing up to TWO years' worth of points, Amber, as Members are generally only able to borrow points from one Use Year. I went straight to the source to find out if there was any truth to this rumor! When I spoke with
Member Services, they shared that, unfortunately, there is no current option to use points in this way.
One option to note--if you are booking a stay in your
next Use Year, you can borrow from the Use Year after that. For example, I am currently in my June 2024 Use Year (meaning I received my annual allotment of Vacation Points on June 1, 2024). If I was booking a stay that takes place in my June 2025 Use Year, I could borrow from my June
2026 Use Year. Don't forget that once points are banked and borrowed, they cannot be moved a second time!
Amber, I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes. Thanks so very much for visiting us again at planDisney, and reach out anytime if we can help with other questions regarding your Disney Vacation Club Membership!
Stay Magical!
Susan
