If some members of my party go to the park earlier than others, can we book a new lightning lane after we have used one of our first initial passes even if other members of the party are not in the park yet and have not scanned their first lightning lane?

    Hi Lindsay!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney—we’re so happy to help you make the most of your magical vacation!

Let’s break this down: both Lightning Lane Multi Pass (LLMP) and Lightning Lane Single Pass are fantastic tools to save time in line and maximize your park days. With LLMP, you can book up to three attractions in advance for your chosen park day. Once you redeem a selection, you can use the My Disney Experience app to check availability for another Lightning Lane Multi Pass experience. You'll continue this pattern of redeeming and making new selections throughout the day.

If some of your party arrives later, no worries! The members of your group who are present can still ride, and you can book another Lightning Lane for them once they’ve scanned in for the first ride. Just remember, only those who’ve tapped in can make new selections. If your early risers are ready to roll, you can modify or cancel the remaining reservations for the latecomers to better fit their schedule.

To make changes, use the My Disney Experience app:
        1.    Tap the three lines in the bottom right corner.
        2.    Select “Lightning Lane Passes.”
        3.    From there, you can modify or cancel reservations.

And if you ever hit a snag, the friendly Guest Experience Team (at the blue umbrellas throughout the parks) is always ready to help. Pro tip: Think of LLMP like a game of musical chairs—you can hold up to three reservations at a time. As soon as you use one, you can book another. It’s like a fun little dance with your Disney day!

I hope this clears things up, Lindsay! If you have more questions—or need tips for tackling the parks with a mix of early birds and night owls (I feel you; I have three sons)—don’t hesitate to ask.

    See ya real soon!
