Most special diets can be accommodated at Walt Disney World. There is
an entire department at Disney Dining dedicated to helping guests with
food allergies, food intolerances, other medical issues, and
religious-based food requirements. They have loads of experience helping guests with peanut allergies.
There are two things you should do to make sure your family has a safe trip:
-
Alert Disney
Dining (407-WDW-DINE) to your situation. They will make a note of the
allergy on all of your advance dining reservations. You should also
remind your server of the allergy as you are seated. Very often a chef
or other member of the kitchen staff will come out to the dining room
to discuss your specific needs with you. If you are eating at
a counter service restaurant, you can ask to see the ingredient list of
most items. Bear in mind that this make take a few moments,
particularly if there are crowds, so be sure to plan accordingly.
-
Send an email describing
your situation (at least 14 days in advance of your trip) to
SpecialDiets@DisneyWorld.com.
A cast member will get back to you and can provide information about ingredients at specific restaurants.
You
can find articles about other guest experiences with allergies if you
go to allearsnet.com. Click on the "search" button and type in the word
"allergy." You should be able to find lots of helpful information there.
