When meeting the characters and princesses, can they sign an item other than the autograph books? Thank you.

    Hi Amy,

Yes! Characters will sign almost anything. It doesn't even have to be an autograph book. It doesn't have to be paper. I love seeing character autographs on unusual items!

You should first know that characters will not sign anything that you're actually wearing. For example, they'll be happy to sign a shirt, but they won't do it if you're wearing the shirt. Also, if you want a character to sign a non-traditional item, you should be prepared to make this easy for the character. For example, if you want the character to sign on fabric, have a hard backing available for the character's pen to press against. An example of this might be having a hard book or clipboard on hand against which a character could sign a tee. Also think about whether you'll want the character to use any unique writing tools like fabric pens or Sharpies.

Some items I've heard of the characters signing include:

    - Tee shirts
    - Baseball caps
    - Baseballs
    - Footballs
    - Ear hats (the light pink Minnie ones work well for this)
    - Photo frames or mattes
    - Quilt squares
    - Vinylmation figures
    - Plush toys
    - Calendars
    - Post cards
    - Pillow cases
    - Leggings
    - Shoes such as Toms or Keds
    - Canvas bags
    - Bike helmets
    - Plain phone or tablet cases

I had a great time during my last Disney trip when I had all the princesses sign a pair of plain canvas shoes. They look fantastic! Just use your imagination to think about what items are useful or important in your life and ask a character to sign that. You'll have a souvenir like no one else. How fun is that!
