Welcome back, Judy. Thanks for stopping back with another question as you count down the remaining days until your family sets sail on the Disney Dream! I hope that your voyage is relaxing and enjoyable, and that you don't have any reason to need first aid or medicines, but in the event that you do, Disney has you covered!
The
gift shops have a nice selection of over-the-counter medications like Dramamine (tabs and bands), Nyquil, Aleve, Midol, Tylenol, Advil, Benadryl, hydrocortisone cream, Claritin, Children's Advil, Pediacare, and more. So, that should take care of any minor aches and pains you or your kiddos may experience.
If there is a more urgent medical need, the ships also offer a
Health Center, which I hope you won't have to visit, but if you do, you'll be very well taken care of. I found out the hard way when on one of our sailings, my son was complaining of his ears hurting. He was dressed as Peter Pan for dinner that night, and I took him down to the Health Center to be checked out. I can still picture my sad little Peter Pan sitting with tears in his eyes on the huge exam table in the doctor's office. The doctor was fabulous with him, and in true Disney style, got him smiling through the pain. She diagnosed a double ear infection - yikes! - and prescribed some antibiotics, which were filled right there in the office for us. While they didn't take insurance, they were happy to provide a detailed receipt, so we could submit it to our insurance for repayment when we were back home. I simply charged the visit and prescription cost to our stateroom account. It was easy, which made us happy that we could get our little Peter Pan back to health quickly. The next day, he was feeling ten times better and ready to take on Captain Hook!
Here's to a healthy cruise, Judy!
