Welcome, Amber to planDisney! First and foremost, thank you for your family's service! Coming from a military family myself, I am so appreciative of the sacrifices my family members have given to our country, and value our family time, which is why we love visiting Walt Disney World Resort often. We truly feel like we are taken away from the "real world" and placed in a bubble of joy, magic, and make memories that last a lifetime. I am so happy you have booked a visit to Walt Disney World in October! With the return of
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, and
Disney After Hours Boo Bash at Disney's Magic Kingdom Park, you will have some fun (and not-so-scary!) adventures ahead of you!
Medically retired service members are entitled to the
Armed Forces Salute Tickets, as well as the
special rates offered for Disney Resorts, and a discount on the purchase of
MemoryMaker, a Disney PhotoPass product. You will need to provide your military ID and I would bring DD-214 paperwork as well, just in case. Mention that you or the family member traveling with you is medically retired to a Cast Member at the
Disney Resort Reservations Hotel Desk at (407) 939-1936. They should be able to tack on the military rate to your package. At check-in, make sure you have your I.D. and DD-214 paperwork on hand. Since you are in North Carolina, you can purchase tickets from the LTS office in the Mini Exchange at Fort Bragg (if you are near Fayetteville) or check Seymour Johnson AFB, or Camp Lejeune's travel offices. You will receive exchange certificates that look like paper vouchers, and you can link the number barcode on the back to the members of your traveling party. Keep those exchange certificates, you will need them when you arrive at the theme parks. Stop by Guest Relations, and verify your military status with your I.D., and the tickets will be activated. While you are there, mention the Memory Maker discount if you are interested. It is a great deal for servicemembers, and you will have all the photos you take during your stay at Walt Disney World.
Amber, I hope all of this information helps today! I wish you and your family a wonderful time at Walt Disney World, enjoy
The World's Most Magical Celebration!
