Hi there, Elizabeth!
As you probably know, even with all of the options available to us as
Disney Vacation Club members, it sometimes happens that we can't get the resort we want for the number of days we want. Sometimes, it's pretty easy to deal with this, as you might have all of the days at the beginning of your
Walt Disney World available, and none of the end. In this case, you can just book two reservations - one at the first resort, and one at a second one.
But sometimes, your
DVC resort of choice might have two days open at the start of your trip, another couple at the end, but you can't get what you want in the middle. This is where the
partial waitlist comes in. You can book the resort rooms you want at both ends of your vacation, then put the middle on waitlist. That way, if it becomes available, you can tie all of the reservations together. That will save you from having to move.
You can have up to two active waitlists per member, and you have two choices when it comes to timing. You can waitlist up to 31 days prior to your trip - which means that once you reach the 31 day mark, they no longer have you on the list in case an opening becomes available. You can also choose a 7 day window.
I will keep my fingers crossed that if you do have to waitlist anything for your upcoming vacation, you get what you want through waitlist!
Anna
