Maybe staying at CBR Aug 25-30/13 and will have own vehicle. 2 young boys 5 & 3 with a stroller. Is it worth it to drive to the different parks? Does it save much time and if we do drive, is there an added cost such as toll fees? thanks!

    Hi Melissa!

That's a tough question - with lots of debate among the Moms!

First, the easy part of your question: As a Walt Disney World resort guest, there are no additional charges for parking. You simply show your resort parking pass at the parking lot entrances.

Personally, I find that it really isn't worth it to drive to the parks. Not only does a parent need to deal with  traffic and remembering where we parked, I just don't find that it saves enough time.

For the Magic Kingdom, all car parking is located at the Ticket and Transportation center. If you decide to drive to this park, you'll need to then board a monorail or boat to arrive at the Magic Kingdom. This is rarely a time saver or easier.

Typically, when you drive to the other parks, you'll need to park, then board a tram, and then arrive at the park entrance. If you arrive very early in the day, you may be able to park close enough that you are within walking distance, but that is hard to count on. In contrast, the resort buses will drop you off as close to the main park entrance as possible.

The only time we choose to drive is when we visit Downtown Disney. Since we like to shop there, it is much easier to have our own vehicle. Plus, many of the resort buses make multiple stops when heading there, so it ends up being much quicker to drive.

    Hope this helps!
