Hi Lorelei,
Welcome to planDisney!
There are a few options to help you make the parks more manageable.
First, I suggest that you review all of the
services for guests with disabilities. It may be a good idea to look at renting an
electric conveyance vehicle (ECV) or a
wheelchair. These are distributed on a first come, first serve basis, so be sure to get to the parks early to reserve one. If you believe you will need an ECV or Wheelchair at your resort hotel, consider renting one from ScooterBug and they can deliver it to your resort.
If you plan to experience attractions and do not intend to use an ECV or wheelchair, then you should consider registering for
Disability Access Service (DAS). With this service, guests can pre-register and pre-book a select number of attractions. This service is perfect for guests who cannot tolerate standing in a traditional queue.
I also suggest that you check the
guide maps for each park so that you can see if there are any reserved areas for guests with disabilities at the fireworks shows. The new fireworks show at EPCOT is spectacular. Having said all of this, I suspect you may know that some of our guests may be happier shopping than watching the shows. Personally, I love the shows and rounds.
Magic and memories,
Donuell
