Hello, May I use DVC Points for the Swan/Dolphin Hotels at WDW? If so, where are the point charts? Also, how does "Waitlist" work? And if have to cancel a DVC booking, how do my points change and what are the restrictions imposed? Thank you

    Hi Val!

Welcome to planDisney, where we love helping Guests with their Disney vacation questions! As a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member, I would love to help you make the most out of your Disney Vacation Club Membership. I love the flexibility of Vacation Points, using them for Disney Vacation Club Resort stays, stays in other Disney Destinations, cruises on Disney Cruise Line, and Adventures by Disney.

You cannot use Vacation Points for stays at Walt Disney World Swan Hotel or Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel. You can find a list of Disney Resort hotels where you can use your Vacation Points by converting them to Reservation Points on the Explore Destinations page. On the Explore Destinations page, select Walt Disney World Resort to see a list of destinations which include Disney Vacation Club Resorts and Disney Resort hotels. You can view the Points Charts for Disney Vacation Club Resorts, Disney Destinations, Concierge Collection, and World Collection – RCI Resorts on the Disney Vacation Club website by selecting Points Charts under the Plan a Vacation dropdown tab.

If you convert your Vacation Points into Reservations Points for a Disney Destination, they cannot be returned to Vacation Points for a Disney Vacation Club Resort stay. Reservations Points will expire at the end of the Use Year for which they are allotted. If you cancel a Disney Vacation Club Resort stay 1 to 30 days before check-in, your Vacation Points will be placed in a Holding Account, which may limit future flexibility.

Waitlist Requests can be made for Disney Vacation Club Resorts without availability for your desired travel dates. You can create a Waitlist Request by searching for a resort, specifying your desired dates, room type, and the number of Guests in your party. If your desired resort does not have availability for those dates, you can select “Waitlist This Entire Stay.” To create a Waitlist Request you must be within your booking window. You can have up to two active Waitlist Requests per membership, per Use Year. You can read more about Waitlist Requests on the How to Book page on the Disney Vacation Club website.

I hope this information helps you navigate your Disney Vacation Club Membership and plan your next visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth! Here at planDisney, we are always happy to help, so stop back by any time we can answer your vacation questions.
