Howdy, Benny!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.
The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are a fantastic spot for both seasoned campers and happy glampers. With plenty of
recreation offerings like horseback riding, fishing, and canoe rentals, you’ll have your fill of the outdoor fun with a reservation there.
If you’re planning to pitch a tent next year, I’m happy to give you the lay of the land. Each campsite can fit a pop-up camper or camper van-style vehicle and up to two tents, with space for equipment on a 10-by-25-foot concrete pad. I noticed your follow-up question about tent dimensions, and if you’re planning on a 12-by-20-foot tent, you may be stretching the stakes on space.
I reached out to a helpful Cast Member about your specific dimensions and was told that while your tent might just squeeze in, the area has a few additional features like a picnic table and BBQ grill, which are positioned on a coquina (crushed shell) bed right next to the pad. Keep in mind that the pad is also ever so slightly, which might affect your setup.
I personally wouldn't feel comfortable traveling with a tent larger than the stated dimensions, however, I'm about the least savvy camper on earth. I recommend contacting Walt Disney World Resort directly by phone to discuss your specific accommodations and gear. You can reach the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations Team at (407) 934-7639 who should be able to connect you with the right people to answer additional questions.
I’m sorry I couldn’t give you a more firm answer today but I hope you can get your camping setup resolved. I’m wishing you lots of campfire stories, s’mores, and magic on your visit. Speaking of s’mores, don’t miss Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long—a sweet way to enjoy some ooey-gooey marshmallows and magic with these adorable Disney pals. Be sure to review our
Pocket Guide to the resort as well.
Please come back and see us again with more questions. We always do our best to ensure our guests are happy campers.
So long, partner!
