Hi there, Karen!
Thanks for bringing your question from across the pond to us at planDisney! March is one of my favorite months to visit
The Most Magical Place on Earth. With it comes warmer weather, the
EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival, and the privilege of wearing a birthday celebration button! Although the last one is a bit specific to me, I sincerely hope you get the chance to enjoy the first two during your vacation.
Packing for a day at Walt Disney World Resort theme parks can feel a bit daunting, so I'm happy to help you ensure a magical experience is in the bag! Per Walt Disney World guidelines, bags larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm) will not be permitted entry to theme parks. Once inside the theme parks, you are welcome to carry your bag on all attractions with the exception of Magic Kingdom Park's
TRON Lightcycle / RUN which requires guests to stow any belongings larger than a cellphone in complimentary lockers. For all other attractions, while you are permitted to carry your bag with you, the type of storage available varies. Some have storage areas under, in front of, or beside your seat, while others have room for your bag to be placed at your feet. On these attractions, I usually loop my foot through one of the straps to better secure the bag.
When possible, I enjoy storing my backpack in a
rentable locker at the theme park upon arrival and carrying immediate necessities (such as a portable charger, disposable poncho, reusable straw, sunglasses, essential medication, and photo ID) in a smaller crossbody I can easily carry and store on attractions. If I need any of the larger items from my backpack (such as a sweatshirt or jacket for a chilly evening, sunscreen, or a change of clothes), I simply stop by the locker as needed. I also love that renting a locker provides a safe place to store the merchandise purchases I will inevitably make throughout the day.
It is important to note that all bags entering Walt Disney World theme parks are subject to screening by security. To ensure that your bag does not contain any prohibited items, I suggest looking over the
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules in advance.
I hope this was helpful, Karen, and that you have a vacation filled with magical memories! Feel free to
drop back by with any additional inquiries you may have.
Cheers to 2024,
Lizzie
