Can you get married in Disneyland (not a big wedding - just bride / groom / officiant and a hopeful witness

    Hello there, Sue!

From all of us at planDisney, we would like to wish you a warm welcome and a hearty congratulations on your impending wedding with your Happily Ever After! When I got engaged, my wife and I looked at so many venues for our ceremony and I remember it being one of the toughest decisions we had to make (okay, the cake choice was a close second). I hope that I can provide some clarity and options for you.

I contacted a representative from Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons to get some answers for your question and here is what I learned. All official wedding ceremonies performed on Disney property (including inside Disneyland Park) are arranged through them, so you would not be allowed to hold your own private ceremony within the Park. Given your desire for a small, intimate gathering, their packages might not be what you are looking for, but my panelist friends Prince S and Kaitlin P had separate Disney Fairy Tale Weddings and their pictures are absolutely stunning! If you ever want to be treated like Disney Royalty for a day, Disney Weddings will make it happen!

I had an idea for you, however. Have you considered booking a nice room or suite at one of the official Disneyland Resort Hotels and getting married in the privacy of your room? As long as you are not breaking fire code, you will be allowed to do that with perhaps a wonderful view of the Parks! You could even take advantage of an In-Room Celebration with Disney Floral & Gifts or order Room Service!

I'm sorry if that wasn't the magical answer for which you were hoping, but I wish you the best with whatever decision you make. Now that I've been married for nearly 20 years, our ceremony venue has become far less important for my wife and me (in fact, it's not even there anymore!) and we now focus on the love we share for each other. But you'll be visiting the Disneyland Resort right in the middle of the Holiday Season, which is one of the most beautiful times at the Happiest Place on Earth and I totally understand wanting your special day to be at a place that you love!

I hope that was of some help to you, Sue, and again I wish you the best moving forward. If there is anything else we can do for you, please feel free to reach out again anytime. You're always welcome at planDisney!

Wishing you a Happily Ever After,

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
