Margaret, Saw you on WGN this morning ~ great interview! You answered a lot of questions! You mentioned you like to stay in the Boardwalk area. What appeals to you there versus staying at one of the resorts closer to the parks?

    Hi Marilee,

Thanks so much, it was great to be able to talk about something I love so much, Disney World. We do love staying at the Epcot Resort area very much and specifically the Boardwalk or Beach Club resort. Actually if you are not familiar with the location of these resorts, many may not know how close they are to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

These two resorts, along with the Yacht Club, Dolphin and Swan, are located out the back entrance to Epcot that is found past England in the World Showcase. Both Epcot and Hollywood Studios are a short boat trip or a small walk away. The resorts are located around a small body of water, Crescent Lake. The area is quite relaxing and offers a prime location for daytime relaxing and nightime entertainment. The Beach Club resort offers the best resort pool at Disney World, Stormalong Bay. This giant pool features a lazy river, white sand bottom pools, whirlpool, hot tubs and a pirate ship slide. The resort is situated along a beach with swings and lawn chairs and many evenings you can enjoy a movie on the beach. The Boarwalk resort is located alongside an actual boardwalk promenade with restaraunts, clubs and shops. You can rent bikes and enjoy a loop or two around the lake or grab a wicker chair and watch the boats. In the evening the Boardwalk comes alive with action at three clubs: ESPN, Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance Hall. There are carnival games, merchandise carts and my boys favorite, free nightly entertainment like jugglers and magicians.

The area is a great location to stroll into Epcot for a late dinner or grab a boat for an early morning at Hollywood Studios, then when the sun goes down we can find plenty to do right outside our room. I suggest you try one of these properties for your next trip.
