    Hi Malanie. Thanks for that answer very helpful :) One more follow up question on the subject. If one wants to arrive at MK for opening, how early will ferry and monorail start transporting guest and is there a schedule or do you just show up and wait?

    Hi Janette!

    I'm so glad that I was able to help you navigate the mystery that is Magic Kingdom parking!  When you arrive at the Transportation and Ticket Center, there are plenty of signs directing towards the Ferryboat or Monorail option, so you will be set!

    Transportation to the theme parks, Magic Kingdom included begins one (1) hour prior to park opening.  If Magic Kingdom is set to open at 9 am, it would benefit you to be in the parking lot of the TTC at 7:45/8 am, parked and walking to the monorail/ferry.  It will take you approximately 20-30 minutes to arrive at MK, via monorail or ferry.. The monorail/ferry run quite frequently during peak hours, with waits at the monorail of perhaps 5-10 minutes; you will wait slightly longer for the ferry, but it has higher capacity than the monorail, and it is a pleasurable trip, as well as prime photo opportunities!  Once you arrive, you will go through security/bag check and then turnstiles.  You will then be able to enjoy the rope drop/opening ceremony and begin making magical memories for you and your family.
