We will be making our 1st trip to Disney with our 3 1/2 year old son in January 2013. We are planning on staying at the new Art of Animation Resort. Can you tell me if the weather is typically suitable for swimming?

Congratulations on your first Walt Disney World Vacation, Suzanne!  You are going to love staying at Disney's Art of Animation Resort!  I got a firsthand look at Disney's newest resort in April and loved the immersive storybook theming and attention to detail at every turn. Although the weather can be quite unpredictable in January, the average high temperature for Orlando is typically in the low 70s while the average low temperature is usually in the upper 40s. We visited Walt Disney World last January and saw several people utilizing the pool at our Disney resort. The resort pools are heated year round to an approximate 82 degrees. I would definitely recommend packing swimsuits should you decide to swim on your vacation. I hope this information helps!  Please don't hesitate to write me back with any additional questions as your planning progresses. Best wishes for a Magical first Walt Disney World Vacation, Suzanne!
    Happy Planning,
