We're making our first trip to Disney with a 5 year-old with multiple food allergies. We have the dining plan, but when looking at the kids choices at QS, he can't eat almost any of them! Will he be permitted to order off the adult menu with his credits?

    Hi Kathy,

Hooray for a first trip! I hope you have a wonderful vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort.

My daughter has a shellfish allergy so I totally understand your concern. We enjoy a meal at any restaurant including Cape May Cafe which is a traditional clam and seafood bake at dinner without worry. I will tell you the chefs at Disney rock and they will make your son feel special.

When you make your dining reservations, you want to note that your son has a food allergy. This then alerts the restaurant they have a special guest joining them. When you arrive at your table, the server will ask who the guest is with the allergy and send the chef to your table. The chef will talk with your son to plan his meal. You will be charged only as a child for his meal.

If you have questions about ingredients at a quick service location, ask for a list of ingredients. You can also ask for a chef as well. Remember you can bring food into the parks it this would make you feel more comfortable.

In addition, you can email the team at specialdiets@disneyworld.com if you have additional questions.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
