When making adr's and it asks either for credit card or pay for by ddp, what if you add the ddp later after booking with credit card? How will it work when some restaurants have limited seating for adr's with ddp? Thanks! :)

    Hi Kayla!

When making Advanced Dining Reservations (ADR), some of the dining experiences require a credit card to confirm the ADR. Your card is not charged at the time (unless you are booking a signature dining experience or show that requires pre-payment), but instead kept on file and will be charged a cancellation fee if the reservation is not cancelled within the allotted time frame (usually 24-48 hours prior to the reservation time, varies by restaraunt.) If that occurs, a $10 surcharge will be charged per guest in the party. This is to help prevent no-shows and double-booking, therefore allowing a greater selection of ADR availability for WDW guests.

If you would like to add the Disney Dining Plan (DDP,) you must do so at least three days (72 hours) prior to your check-in date.

If you add the DDP after you book your ADRs, this is no problem for those reservations that just have a credit card hold, just notify them when you check-in that you are on the DDP, however, for any dining experience in which you pre-pay or have DDP seating, you will need to cancel and re-book your ADR. This could result in the loss of a reservation, as your spot could get grabbed up before you have a chance to rebook.

I'd highly recommend purchasing the DDP when you book your package to prevent having to cancel and re-book reservations.

    I hope this helps.

    Magically,
    Stacy
