I was at Majic Kingdom on Dec. 21, 1971 and have been a member of DVC since 1995. My oldest daughter is getting remarried in the spring 2022 & would like to take the family to WDW for their honeymoon. We would need a 2 BR. Where is it best to look?

    Hello Rebecca!

Welcome Home and welcome to planDisney! How exciting to have visited the Magic Kingdom back in 1971! I can only claim 1978, as I wasn’t quite here yet in 1971.

Congratulations to your daughter on her upcoming nuptials! As a Disney Vacation Club Member myself, I have logged into the Disney Vacation Club Member Website to check on availability for you, and I do see some availability in late May! If you have gone online to check availability yourself, you may have noticed that things are very tightly booked. With the closures of many Disney Vacation Club Resorts during the pandemic, many Members have a large number of Vacation Points they want to use before they expire and so villas are booking further in advance than typical.

Looking at a check-in date of May 22, I do see full availability for a 2 Bedroom Villa at both Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and Disney’s Old Key West Resort. Both of these are great options.

If you have not stayed at Disney’s Old Key West Resort in the last few years, I highly recommend you consider this resort! The rooms were refurbished a few years ago, and are light, bright, and welcoming. I truly think this resort is a hidden gem. Because it is the original Disney Vacation Club Resort and isn’t walking distance to a theme park, many Members overlook it, but the rooms are large and the value for your Vacation Points is excellent. My entire family from the kids to the grandparents enjoy the pool area. My daughter joins in the pool games, my teens take on the water slide or hot tub, and my dad is always happy with a Bloody Mary from the Gurgling Suitcase and a comfy lounge chair.

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa just completed a gorgeous renovation of the villas! These rooms have a classic yet contemporary feel, and you’ll find the sofa beds replaced with comfy and convenient Murphy beds. If you’ll be doing a lot of celebrating, you’ll be just steps away from amazing dining and entertainment at Disney Springs. How about a family dinner at Morimoto Asia or The BOATHOUSE? You’ll find options for everyone's tastes at Disney Springs.

Availability is likely to get tighter, so I would not wait to book. If you’d like, you can also consider setting up a Waitlist request at another resort. I’ve been lucky over the years with my Waitlist requests, so it never hurts to try.

Sending your daughter a very big congratulations, and I hope your entire family has a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
