    To many magicbands were ordered by mistake. I did it through My Disney Experience . I don't need four magic bands only two. I don't think they were paid for, my account shows four magic bands. How do I cancel two of the bands?

    Hi Alice!

    Welcome to planDisney! My family loves our MagicBands, and we still enjoy picking out new ones for every trip! One aspect of pre-ordering MagicBands for Guests staying at a Disney Resort Collection Hotel is that the system will not allow you to only order MagicBands for part of your group. If you choose to pre-order MagicBands, you must select one for each member on your room reservation. If there are four members of your party, you must order four MagicBands. Unfortunately, once the order has been placed, you cannot cancel or modify the order.

    You mention your account shows four MagicBands. If there are only two members of your party, but when you look at the MagicBands listed for each person you see two for each, in that case, it isn’t that you ordered four, but that you are seeing your new MagicBand and an old MagicBand. MagicBands are associated to Guests, not individual trips. I have multiple MagicBands (I probably have 10, it's a little ridiculous, but what can I say?) and can change which one I use each day of my visit. Each MagicBand is associated to me, and so they all work on my trip. If the battery is still working in your older MagicBand and you still have it, it would work to access your room and tickets on your upcoming trip.
     
    For Guests who only wish to get new MagicBands for part of their party, the other option is to skip the discounted pre-order option, and purchase your MagicBands individually from shopDisney. This would allow you to just buy one or two, rather than four, but you may find the price of pre-ordering four MagicBands with the discount is still a better deal than buying one or two at full price from shopDisney.

    For Guests that do not wish to use a MagicBand, there are several other options available. You can use the Key to the World Card issued to you at check-in as your room key and park ticket. You can unlock your room door with the My Disney Experience App from your mobile phone, or even more exciting, you can now use your mobile device for theme park tickets! Check out MagicMobile to add your theme park tickets to your smartphone or smartwatch! You can even choose fun mobile ticket designs for each member of your party. While we ordered MagicBands for our visit next month, we also intend to try out MagicMobile. You can switch back and forth to whatever method works for you at any given moment.

    Your MagicBands should ship soon, Alice. I hope this helps you figure out what happened with your MagicBand situation, and I wish you a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.
