MagicBand+ pairing with Smart Phone; Minnie Mouse band

    I got a MagicBand+ and loaded it into MDE on my old iPhone. In my new iPhone, when I log into MDE, it shows the band but says “not connected.” I’ve tried linking it, but it says it’s connected to a device. Do I need to deactivate it from my account online?

    Welcome, Allison we are happy you stopped by planDisney with your question about connecting your MagicBand+. Settling these issues ahead of your visit is always a great idea and I’m pleased to help. Let’s make sure you have a magical holiday visit to whichever of the parks you have decided on. 

    MagicBand+ is the newest wearable device that can be your park ticket, a form of payment, and even a way to link your Disney PhotoPass photos. These are rechargeable and have so many different designs you will likely find one that fits your Disney style. 

    These devices connect via Bluetooth to your phone so make sure your smartphone’s Bluetooth is on. If you continue to have issues I would recommend restarting the phone and your MagicBand+. To factory reset your MagicBand+ you will use one single press of the button followed by a second button press that you hold down for 15 seconds. After the 3 haptic buzzes your band will start to flash rainbow colors and you will know it is restarting. Once it is back on, use your My Disney Experience App to the “MagicBands and More” section where you should see an option to “Pair” the band to this phone. If you continue to have issues I would call for assistance by phone. This link has a number for help with MDE and MagicBands.
