I have a Magicband+ that is linked to WDW. I know I can use it and plan to for Disneyland, but it will not sync to the app. I tap, enter the ID, nothing. It just loads for 2 minutes then says something went wrong. Help?

    Ka-chow, Andrew!

As you're planning to do, my family and I use our MagicBand+ at both the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort. There have occasionally been speed bumps along the way when switching between coasts. But we've found our way over them and onto the free-wheeling highway of MagicBand+ smoothness to rival Route 66 itself.

Things work a little differently for MagicBand+ at the Disneyland Resort versus the Walt Disney World Resort. First of all, only MagicBand+ is supported at the Disneyland Resort. At the Disneyland Resort, there isn't a Friends and Family list to work with. So your MagicBand+ devices are only linked to a MyDisney account, not to a specific Guest profile managed by your account. And, while a MagicBand+ may only be linked to up to one Disneyland Resort account at a time, they can be unlinked from one account and then linked to a different account. If your party has used multiple MyDisney accounts with the Walt Disney World Resort My Disney Experience Guest profile and vacation plan management system, it may be that your band needs to be unlinked from that account first before linking it to the account you are using for your Disneyland Resort vacation.

Here are the steps to unlink a MagicBand+ from one account and link it to a different Disneyland Resort account:

    1. Open the MagicBand+ screen from the ☰ feature menu of the Disneyland mobile app while logged in to the account with the band currently linked.
    2. Tap the image or title of the band you wish to unlink. Make sure to select the MagicBand+ and not the ticket or pass assigned to it.
    3. At the bottom of the band's configuration page, tap "Unlink."

    4. On the device of the other account holder where you wish to link the band, open the MagicBand+ screen in the Disneyland app.
    5. Tap '+' at the top of the screen.
    6. Tap "Open Scanner to Link." Or use the "Type ID" method to manually enter the band ID printed underneath the MagicBand+.
    7. Follow on-screen instructions to link the band and assign a ticket or pass to the MagicBand+.
    8. Optional: Pair the band with the mobile device. This step will require that the band is charged enough to allow Bluetooth connectivity.

If you still have difficulty linking your band to your account, you may wish to try the following as well:

    1. Fully charge the MagicBand+.
    2. Fully powering off and restarting my mobile phone sometimes helps with pairing.
    3. A reset or factory reset of your band may be needed. This has often helped me when switching between Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort.
    4. Sometimes the name linked to a theme park ticket seems to affect assigning a MagicBand+ to the ticket. In such cases, you may reach out to the Tickets phone line.
    5. You may also visit Guest Relations locations throughout the Disneyland Resort theme parks to request support directly from a Cast Member.

"Life is a Highway," Andrew. Have a great time riding it at the Disneyland Resort.
