Hey, howdy, hey, Laura!
Welcome to the west coast! I’m grateful for the opportunity to help you plan your visit to
Walt Disney's Original Magic Kingdom.
My family first used our
MagicBand+ at the Walt Disney World Resort too. We love that we could use the same bands at the Disneyland Resort! To use a MagicBand+ for a visit to the Disneyland Resort, use the
Disneyland mobile app to first link the band to your Disneyland Resort account. There is a dedicated MagicBand+ screen accessible from the app’s ☰ feature menu.
After linking the band to your account, use the app to assign a
theme park ticket or
Magic Key to the band. You may also choose to do a Bluetooth pairing so you can configure the band from the Disneyland app. Since the band has been used at Walt Disney World, it may need to be reset before it can be fully paired with the Disneyland app. You can follow this link for
instructions on performing a reset or factory reset. Since my wife has her own
My Disney Experience account that has her MagicBand+ linked to it, I also found that I needed to
unlink her band from her Disneyland Resort account so that it could be linked to my Disneyland account for our west coast trips.
Tony’s Tip: A nice option with MagicBand+ at the Disneyland Resort is that you can switch your bands up between members of your party. I like how this allows each member of our family to mix and match our collective set of bands as accessories to match the different outfits we wear each day we visit the theme parks in California. To do this, simply link all of your tickets or passes to your account in the Disneyland mobile app then use the MagicBand+ area of the app to reassign admission to each of the bands you have linked. You can link and unlink bands as well as assign and reassign park admission as much as you would like!
I hope you have a marvelous time at the Disneyland Resort, Laura. Please visit us at planDisney again if you have any more questions.
