Welcome aboard, Karen! Please don't worry because Disney plans everything down to the last detail for guests, so you are in great hands, and are in for one magical adventure!
While I try to uplug when we set sail, I do like to be able to send a quick message here or there back home, and Disney makes that super easy.
Connect@Sea is the internet service available for guests onboard. Here's a hint: on the first day, check your Personal Navigator for the details on the free 50MB package that is available to sign up for only on day one. You can use it throughout the cruise, but must register day one. I always take advantage of this and then use those 50MB for a few quick texts, posts or emails. It's usually plenty, but there is a handy meter on the app that shows how many MB you've used. If you use them all, go ahead at that point and purchase another package.
The ship's WiFi is available for those who have purchased these Connect@Sea packages and you can use it on your phone or computer to do anything you'd do on WiFi at home. I wouldn't recommend FaceTime though because it will use a ton of data. Be sure you have the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App downloaded on your mobile devices before you arrive at port. This app is free to use on the ship's WiFi with no package required, and will give you access to the schedules, menus, maps, and a free onboard texting feature to keep in touch with your group on the ship. Super handy!
Once onboard, if you have more questions or run into any problems with your Connect@Sea, just swing by the Connect@Sea desk where the Cast Member will be able to walk you through anything you're trying to do online. They're super helpful!
I hope that helps ease your concerns as you continue to plan, Karen!
You'll have a fabulous cruise!
