On the magic what is the minimum age the kids can sign in/out of the oceaneers lab/club, 8 or 9yrs old by themselves?

Welcome aboard, Marilyn! Will you be coming all the way from Australia to enjoy an amazing cruise with Captain Mickey and his crew on the Disney Magic? Well, let me tell you from lots of experience on that ship, you are in for one magical, amazing, fantastic, and memorable cruise! Your trip will be well worth all the traveling to get there!

Disney's Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab allow children ages 8 - 12 to check themselves in and out of the club at their parents' discretion. If you'd like your child in that age range to be able to check him or herself in and out without you you'll need to chat with the counselors at the Club and Lab once you're onboard. Stop by during Open House hours on that first day when you can check out the Club and Lab with your kids. If you'd prefer that they not be able to come and go freely from the clubs without you, that is absolutely fine too. You'll set up a password that you'll provide each time you arrive to check them out. If your kids want to leave before you arrive, they can always let the counselors know. The counselors will text or call you on your Wave Phone (two are provided per stateroom, so keep one with you around the ship). My kids really enjoy the Club and Lab on the Magic. My son loves the "Become Iron Man" activities when he could virtually try on Iron Man's suit. My daughter is always happy to participate in all the events with singing, dancing, and crafts, and honestly, we have a hard time getting them to leave the clubs they have so much fun there!

I hope those details help as you continue to plan! Stop back if you have other questions about your vacation before you set sail! I'm happy to help, Marilyn!
