Hello! We are going on the Magic Mediterranean on June 8th, my husband and our 9 year old girl, super excited Soon we will start planning on the excursions. Any recommendations? Especially from Spezia and Civitavecchia? It's a safe to do them in our own?

    Ahoy Teresa!
I know you are looking forward to lots of "Magic" in the Mediterranean this summer.  I was fortunate enough to preview some of the incredible adventures that will be offered this past September, and I know you won't be disappointed with any of the excursions offered on this amazing itinerary.  On my trip, I was able to see firsthand how Disney Cruise Line works hand in hand with the tour operators to create one-of-a-kind experiences ashore for their Guests.  With that being said, you can definitely venture out on your own safely, but I hope you will choose a few offered by the cruise line so you have some unforgettable moments in these fabulous ports of call.
In Civitavecchia, I would definitely book a Disney Cruise Line (DCL) sponsored adventure because the port is actually about an hour or so away from Rome.  For this reason, I would let DCL take care of everything so you can sit back and enjoy this remarkable city.  One of my most memorable experiences was previewing the Highlights of Rome for Families.  Seeing the iconic Rome landmarks is really unbelievable, and the puppet show just for your princess is the perfect opportunity for you to enjoy a little time on your own.  Another recommendation is Taste of Rome because it also hits the highlights with the best sweet treat to end your day!  I savored every bite of my delicious chocolate and caramel gelato!
Unfortunately, I did not get to preview La Spezia, but with the age of your daughter, I think Easy Pisa is great opportunity to see the gorgeous Tuscan countryside and the city of Pisa. I'm sure she will love traveling by the trolley train!
I'm about out of room, Teresa so please write back if I can help you further!  Good luck with your decisions!
