Welcome aboard, Sally! What an amazing cruise you have to look forward to later this month! When I got to explore the
Mediterranean with Disney Cruise Line a few years back, it was truly the trip of a lifetime with so many moments I'll remember forever!
Disney Cruise Line suggests that guests not book flights from Barcelona any earlier than 11:30 a.m. on debarkation day, to ensure that they will have plenty of time to enjoy breakfast, disembark the ship, pick up their luggage, go through customs, take a transfer to the airport, go through security and be at their gate on time. Your 11:00 flight may be cutting it pretty close, Sally.
If that is your only option, I suggest that you take advantage of the priority debarkation that last day. Guests who carry all of their own luggage off the ship (instead of leaving it out the night before to be taken off for them) can debark the ship first, allowing them to be the first groups off and through customs. You'll want to be sure you do this and that you have private transportation arranged to get you right to the airport. Debarkation times can vary, but the fastest option is definitely to carry off your own luggage in that very first group that leaves the ship before the rest of the crowds who have sent their luggage ahead are allowed to disembark.
If you have further questions about Disney Cruise Line's ground transfers which carry an additional fee and are suited for guests with flights after 11:30, you can call the agents at Disney at 800-951-3532. More details about transportation from the port to the Barcelona airport are listed on the
Air and Ground Transportation page of Disney Cruise Line's website. Scroll all the way down to the Barcelona information for specifics.
Enjoy a magical sailing, Sally!
