We will be going to the Magic Kingdom and wanted to take the fairy to Port Orleans Riverside and wanted to know if there was an extra charge for the service.

    Hi Amy! Welcome to planDisney!

I really believe that riding on some of Disney's complimentary transportation options makes the trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth even more fun.  There's not really a better feeling than soaring through the air on the Disney Skyliner or gliding on your way to Magic Kingdom on the Disney Monorail.  I feel like the excitement of our vacation really begins once we're on our way to one of the four incredible Theme Parks!

There are so many options when it comes to getting around the more than 40 square miles of Walt Disney World Resort, but thankfully your My Disney Experience mobile app has you covered! Did you know that by opening this app you have a fully interactive map at your fingertips? With this map, you can click around the Resort and "Get Directions" to and from your Resort to the Parks and anywhere in between.  Simply click the icon that is second from the left at the bottom of the screen to pull up the map.  Here you can find your way from point A to point B, locate restrooms or dining locations and even see wait times for your favorite rides and attractions.

While there is no direct Ferryboat route from Magic Kingdom to Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, that doesn't mean you can't get there! If you're hoping to see Port Orleans - Riverside and all its Southern charm you will find it easy to just jump on a Disney Bus headed straight to that Resort. After strolling along the Sassagoula River and maybe even making your way over to Disney's Port Orleans Resort- French Quarter for some beignets from Scat Cat's Club - Cafe, you and your party can easily hop on the water transportation from Port Orleans - French Quarter to Disney Springs! This way you'll get to experience exploring the Resort as well as a beautiful ride on the water.

If you're looking to ride the Ferryboat from Magic Kingdom to the Transportation and Ticket Center just for fun that's ok too! The Transportation and Ticket Center is where Guests of Magic Kingdom park before boarding a Monorail or Ferryboat to the Park.  If you're planning on driving to the Park instead of taking a Disney Bus you'll be able to ride the Ferryboat straight to your magical destination! Disney transportation around the Resort on buses, boats, the monorail and the Skyliner is complimentary.

Enjoy every moment of your magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Ashley, Massachusetts

Hi All, I'm Ashley! From the very beginning Walt Disney World Resort has always been a part of my life. As a child I excitedly helped to plan family trips, as a young adult I planned our "happily ever after" right on Disney property, and now I'm lucky enough to plan magical vacations for my three incredible children. When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
