We will be at the Magic Kingdom on Sunday 9/24. I realized the park closes at 6pm that day for the Halloween Party, but we have a Plaza reservation for 6:30pm. Will we be able to stay for the reservation past 6pm?

    Hiya Katherine!  Welcome to planDisney.

How exciting, your vacation is almost here!  Just a few more sleeps and you will be off and away making memories at The Most Magical Place on Earth.

I'm glad you checked the theme park hours for your visit and have noted that Magic Kingdom closes at 6:00 PM on a day that you will be visiting.  You are indeed right, this early closing is to accommodate Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party which officially begins at 7:00 PM.  According to a Cast Member that I spoke to, since you do not have a ticket for this event, you will not be able to access dining reservations or attractions any time past the regular theme park closing time which is 6:00 PM.  However, if you modify your dining reservations at The Plaza Restaurant for anytime before 6:00 PM you will be allowed to stay and dine.  For example, if you modified your advanced dining reservations to be 5:50 PM, you would be able to check in before park closing and then stay for your meal.  At the conclusion of your meal you will be able to exit the park and maybe even take in a few sights of the party as you exit.

In order to modify your dining reservation, you can do so by logging into your My Disney Experience account or by using your My Disney Experience App.  Alternatively, you can also use the link listed in the following page under Dining Reservations.

Have a Magical vacation, and please let us know if you have any further Disney vacation planning questions!
