We will be at Magic Kingdom on my husband's birthday, soon. He would like to have dinner at a "nice" place where wine is available, which takes us out of Magic Kingdom to eat. Made reservations at The Wave for now, but wondering about other sug

    Hi Gina,

Happy early birthday to your husband!

I happen to like the Wave quite a lot, I've had great experiences with the food there and they do have an interesting list of sustainable wines. However, the Wave is not among Disney's gourmet "signature" restaurants. The signature restaurants are the ones that are "nice." They have a more refined atmosphere, more extensive wine and spirits lists, and are generally more relaxing. Since you're in the Magic Kingdom area, I have two suggestions: the California Grill or Artist Point.

The California Grill is located on the top floor of the Contemporary resort (the Wave is on the ground level) with a view of the Magic Kingdom and, if you time it right, a view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. The focus here is seafood, but there are dishes for all palates.

Artist Point, located in the Wilderness Lodge, is my personal favorite signature restaurant. They have Northwest American classics with a refined twist. I find the warm wood and fabric decor to be the perfect blend of sophisticated and welcoming.

Other great choices might be Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge or Yachtsman Steakhouse the the Yacht Club. You can read more about your options on the Disney Dining page of the Disney website.

Please let me know if you need more information about any of these options.
