Hi Douglas!
Thanks for bringing another great question to planDisney! The Magic Kingdom fireworks dessert party is one of my favorite Enchanting Extras we’ve done, so I’m happy to give you some guidance!
First, let’s chat about some of the pros of each.
For the
Magic Kingdom fireworks dessert pre-party, you’ll enjoy dessert first, then you’ll head over to the designated viewing area. The nice thing about this is that if you’re hoping to have an earlier night or you want to jump on some rides with low wait times right after the fireworks, you can do so.
For the post-party, after checking in to the dessert party, you’ll go to the viewing area while the pre-partiers are enjoying their treats and drinks. That means you’ll get first dibs for your spot in the viewing area if you get there early since the area is shared between those attending the pre- and post-parties. Then, instead of being in the mix of the crowds after the fireworks, you get to relax while enjoying dessert.
While I don’t think you could go wrong either way, I personally love the
fireworks dessert post-party, and I highly recommend it! It was great to avoid all the crowds exiting the park and end a busy park day on a laid-back note.
By the time we were leaving the park, we were able to take some crowd-free
photos in front of Cinderella Castle and walk out of a close-to-empty park while waving goodbye to Goofy. Core memory made!
Remember, you can
book your Enchanting Extras for your whole trip 60 days prior to your check-in date if you’re staying at a Disney World resort. If you’re staying off property, you’ll be able to book 60 days prior to the date you plan to go to the dessert party. Reservations are pending availability, so I'd book as soon as you can.
I hope you love it just as much as my family did! As always, feel free to come back to visit us at planDisney with any other questions you have leading up to your trip.
