Hello, Robyn!
Welcome to planDisney and welcome back to Walt Disney World. I’m so excited for you and your upcoming trip. It seems that it’s been a while since your last visit so you’re in for a real treat.
2018 is when I booked my very first trip as an adult with my very own family and since then, Walt Disney World has been our go-to theme park. As a child, Disneyland Resort was my second home, so discovering Disney World as an adult with my own family was a full-circle moment. Now my children are growing up loving Disney World which is so magical to me! Just talking about it with you has me so excited for your upcoming visit. It’s going to be so magical, Robyn!
Since it has been a while, I recommend upgrading your current MagicBands to the new
MagicBand+ option. The newer styles are rechargeable and interactive, which adds to the fun. If you’ve booked a
Disney Resort you will have the option to purchase your MagicBands before your arrival. Those will come in the mail already linked to your current reservation. You can also check the MagicBands available to purchase on the
Disney Store website. If you do end up purchasing any from the Disney Store website, you’ll need to link them to your new My Disney Experience account. Don’t forget to charge them too! Oh! And make sure to bring those chargers with you on your trip as well.
If you rather not purchase new ones, you can try to use your old ones for your upcoming visit. However, since so much time has passed, the battery health of your current MagicBands
might limit their usage. This could mean the inability to receive
attraction photos and videos. And trust me, you don’t want to miss out on those! Attraction photos are family favorites, it’s so funny to see my kid’s expressions come to life.
Robyn, I hope this helps guide your decision on what to do when it comes to visiting with MagicBands. Until then, continue to plan away and if there’s anything we can do to help, you know where to find us!
